Sight Beyond the Surface

4. 07.23

John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (KJ)

The Perfect One: He walks in the light, yet appears to stagger in the dust as His holy blood drops to the ground, affirming the tragic trail of Truth. He carries the burdensome beams upon which He’s ordained to mercilessly hang… for us.

Oh, what a Savior.

The price paid for our redemption is utterly inconceivable, although it is more worthy than any other portion of history to develop the capacity to understand. 

Acts 2:23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. (NAS)

Jesus.  Beloved Son of GOD.  Crucified.

Matt 27:26-31

Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

²⁸ And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

³⁰ And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

³¹ And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. (KJ)

I can barely read it.  My hands cover my face.  My eyes peer through my fingers in surveillance of the Scripture.  Now my breath is sparse and rightly so.  Fathoming a fraction of the immensity of His suffering is an undeniably heart stopping affair.  By and through the pursuit of envisioning this painstaking reality, His Face appears within my mind’s eye as True Love in its purest form is revealed.

Jer 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (NKJ)

Why is this a Good Friday?  No one is good but God.  He alone determines what is right. 

Is 53:10-11

But the Lord desired
To crush Him, causing Him grief;
If He renders Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
¹¹ As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He will see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
For He will bear their wrongdoings. (NAS)

The epitome of good came to die—brutally. 

This is our God, our Creator, our King.

Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
