The Mind Room

Nicole J Lougee Avatar

Wherewithal is a gift.  This morning, such pertains to prayer. Vocalization today- a violation; hence the importance of mental sanctification.  Compelled by a developed mandate for connection to The One, I recognize the summons for outer silence, in order that inner dialog would predominate my “dome”.

Ps 62:5 My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.

I find myself thinking of the mind as the upper room ofthis lower life, where searching for the Savior successfully unfolds while shifting through the files of subjective thought and experiential memory. Indeed– climbing the stairwells of psychological structure, I find my spiritual constitution rooted in Scripture.

Ps 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

I shut the windows of my soul, finding in the dark a most prevalent Presence. No need for searching, seeking, stalking, hawking this morning.  God, like the sacred aurora of a cleansed, northern night sky, has come to take up residence here.  Peace permeates each chamber which would otherwise be preoccupied with the pollution of reason, sense and self.

Reverence escalates, ascending the terror of the times.  Refuge is revealed.  It is true:

Is 26:3-4 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
Trust in the Lord forever,
For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

Prov 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Prov 14:26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And His children will have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
To turn one away from the snares of death.

Scripture speaks by the Spirit.  Silence is an open door to the realm of an all-encompassing destination, enabling access to divine communication with the Grand Master of Grace and Glory.

Ps 147:11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
In those who hope in His mercy.

Now in the serenity of silence I find the Source.  HIM- who was and is and is to come is here in my very heart, the LORD Jesus Christ, Savior and Sanctifier to whom be all glory for ever in every place.  Amen.

2 Cor 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

I really like this! God speaks to us in that still, small voice and if there is too much noise and chaos externally and internally, we’ll miss it! Be still and know that I am God…
