KING OF KINGS

What does a king do?

Some might say he governs. He rules. He reigns. He exerts authority.

Ok… over what? Over whom?

Well, over those who are subject to his rule by jurisdiction. For the nations, as the world knows, this refers to geographical thus physical dominion.

But don’t you know that there’s a land located beneath the surface of your soul? It’s a secret place cast in darkness, governed by the tyranny of self – a satanically charged kind of management geared on a fast track towards eternal agony. That is, until the light of the LORD shines upon it, exposing its need for an administrative overhaul.

He calls.  Some respond.

The Bible reveals the One, true Source of divine royalty.

John 18:37

“So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

Jesus is our King.  A King defined by the deepest need of His people.

What does this King do?

He gives – everything.

Romans 8:32

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

He loves – unreservedly.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

He serves – everyone.

Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Jesus Christ, Lord of heaven and earth, reduced Himself to human form in order to satisfy the righteous demands of the holy Father of all creation, so that we can be restored as image bearers of life rather than shells of destruction.

This King laid down His life, suffered unimaginably, and died for all people, yet gives opportunity to belong to Him, because true love does not demand allegiance.

Revelation 1:4-5

… Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.

To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

In light of this, let an awareness be emphasized:

Jesus is THE King!

Revelation 19:16

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

1 Timothy 6:15-16

He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

Understand something: Jesus is King regardless of if He’s yours or not. Through His mercy, a choice is extended to all people. We may be vessels of righteousness in receiving salvation by grace through faith in Him – or by treason, be made subjects of wrath.

Philippians 2:9-11

Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Precious people, please know:

Today is the day of salvation.

Mark 1:15

And saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

The hour of grace is running out. Decide whom will rule over your soul. By believing wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ as Savior, you will be embraced by a forever family.  By making Jesus the King of your heart, you will enter into a realm of service that has eternal implications and brings forth an endless richness of spirit that can never be shaken, shattered, or stripped from you.

Joshua 24:15

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
