12.8.22
As the Truth of Christ strikes my psyche I begin to unravel. Lyrics flow through my heart:
“How many kings stepped down from their thrones? …How many fathers gave up their sons for me?”
The reality of Jesus Christ is entirely too much to take in. Even as I stare at the Scriptures, I am unable to fathom the cost of our redemption. The Cross of Christ must be considered with regard for the Messiah’s majesty. Who is Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us.
John 1:1, 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Mt 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Mk 4:41
They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Heb 1:3, 8
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; …But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
John 14:6-7
Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”
Now, as the Spirit of God resonates within me that these are the eternal Words of God, my mental capacity is shattered when I consider why Christ came and what He did for us. It is too much. Too intense. Much to awful to comprehend… And yet those who truly believe are required to carry the most sacred sacrifice in our hearts and allow it to define us.
Oh, the mercy of God…
As I search for a closing statement (as the demands of the day implore), I discern it best to leave myself in suspense, as it is how we must live until the day we are completely reunified with our Savior, Creator, God and King.
May we never cease to ponder the depths of His love, made evident through His unspeakable sacrifice.
